I am reading Lou Gramm's biography authored by Scott Pitoniak and himself. 

It is a fantastic book. Easy to read and of course worth reading.

I am truly enjoying it.

World Book Day

Today is World Book Day and since it is my birthday too I got two new books for my collection.

This time they are not literary pieces, they deal with things you can grow in the kitchen garden. 

Their covers are self-explanatory. Don't judge them ;-)

Play Books

 If you had asked me a couple of weeks ago, I would have told you that kindle was my favourite commercial application for buying and reading e-books. To tell you the truth, I had never used Play Books before. Let me insist about the commercial thing. I have used several applications through the years. but only as e-readers. They didn't have an option to buy books online.

I knew Play Books existed and that it was pretty good, the problem was that back in the day you couldn't import your library to the platform. It was only possible to read the books that you acquired through it. So I had never even started the app.

 But when I revived my lenovo tablet after a long hibernation I started using Play Books and I must admit that I love it, in fact now I am using both (kindle and Play Books) at the same time. 

In the kindle I am reading a book about ecological gardening and in the Play Books I am reading "La Bestia" (the beast) by Carmen Mola. I am truly enjoying both the books and the e-reader applications.

  The best thing without a doubt is the synchronization between devices, no matter if you are reading on the tablet or the phone you do not have to waste a minute trying to figure out where you were when you left it. Both apps take you to your bookmarks. 

And very likely the second best thing would be night light, for reading when it gets dark.

La novia gitana

La novia gitana (The gypsy bride) by Carmen Mola is one of the most thrilling books I read in my life. And definitely the best I read this year so far (It's the only one I read *lol*). It is the first installment in a series. 

I am currently reading La bestia (The beast) by the same authors. La bestia won the prestigious Premio Planeta prize in 2021.

Tronada

I finished reading "Tronada" ("Storm" in English) written by a friend of mine. J.R. Viu Llubell. It is his first published novel.

It is a fantastic detective adventure book in which the characters and the story are carefully crafted. 

The end is absolutelly well-knit and completelly surprising.

Craig Ferguson

I do not remember ever posting anything about him on this blog before. Maybe I have but in case I have not,  it is high time to do so. I must say: I like Craig Ferguson a lot, I like his sense of humour ever since I started watching The late late show years ago. I remember his interview with Adriana Lima back in the day and many many more...

I like him so much that I immediately bought his latest book Riding the elephant as soon as I knew it was published. I do not have a lot of time to read because I work long hours but I am really enjoying it. There are all kinds of stories, some are sad, some are hilarious but behind all of them there is him, the narrator, the fun Craig. Today I couldn't stop laughing reading chapter 15, there is a quote "Fear would have you believe it starts with a capital letter, but it doesn't, not unless you put it at the start of a sentence or name our cat after it" 

It is just an example of his wit. I could really be talking about him for a long time since I watched his tv shows for years, but I think that if you are any curious you can check online and see for yourself.
